SATURDAY MORNING BUSINESS MEETING - September 7, 2019:
The meeting was well attended by veterans and several of the spouses. Rod Rodello, our leader and coordinator called the meeting to order.
New Business:
1. The commissioning of the new USS Higbee DDG 123 was discussed. At this time there was no information regarding the exact date this would occur. Since then the site has received this post on share your thoughts from Ron Blevins: Just a note on the USS Higbee DDG 123 Commissioning date. It is planned for 2024 according to web site navycommissionings.org. If anyone is interested.
2. Suggested locations for the 2020 USS Higbee Reunion: The following locations from the web site page "Suggested Locations for the 2020 Reunion" were submitted:
3. Sharon Wilson - Status of the web site and email. There were no concerns so Sharon will continue to keep the website and email up and running.
4. It was also discussed of trying to coordinate the USS Higbee reunion with the launch of the new USS Higbee DDG 123. General consensus was this may be too hard to coordinate. It could be looked at in the future as the commissioning year is 2024, depending what date the commissioning is set for.
5. Rod is coordinating with Lee McCumsey to include information in the upcoming newsletters.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Any changes to this business meeting should be addressed to Sharon Wilson, USS Higbee Web Master. I do attempt to include all business discussed.
